What to do in Your Charleston Garden...in august

This is a pre-recorded monthly virtual workshop series led by Clemson Extension Agent Chris Burtt. The “What to do in Your Charleston Garden” series offers Lowcountry Gardeners practical and timely advice to creating your best garden ever.

What to expect in August:

The Summer Heat may be making it difficult to stay out in the garden, but now is the time to plan and prepare for fall. Make the final plantings of various summer annuals such as Marigolds and Zinnias. Fall Vegetables can be direct seeded in some circumstances. Planning where to plant trees and shrubs for the fall will be critical as well. But keep in mind pest and disease reach record numbers by this month so continue to monitor and treat accordingly.
