Tuesday Aug. 9th: 10am – Noon
Succulent Wreath Design Class
Nancy Hart – Church Creek Nursery
We’ll provide the wreath form and starter succulents, you provide the enthusiasm, creativity and willing to get your hands dirty in this often requested workshop with succulent expert and nursery owner Nancy Hart. Nancy will take you through the step by step process of designing your own wreath that you will take home with you that day. Opportunity to purchase additional succulents will be available as well.
$45 per CHS member $50 for guests (Limited to 16 participants)

Crazy Garden Cocktail Hour
Sarah Martin & Hallie Arnold – Mixologists
Back by popular demand the comedic cocktail duo of Sarah and Hallie will return for another round of fabulous cocktails along with hilarious stories and anecdotes about their adventures in world of mixology. Learn how to make refreshing summer cocktails featuring natural garden ingredients and of course sample everything as you sit back and laugh a lot.

Ikebana: The Art of Japanese Floral Arranging
Kathy Huang – Ikebana design expert
Join expert Kathy Huang as she demonstrates five popular Ikebana styles and learn a hands-on Moribana (pile-up) style. Flowers provided for you to walk out with your own personal arrangement. Each student will need to bring their own Kenzan (frog or pinholder), flat bowl type vase and floral clippers.

Thursday Aug 11th: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Growing Epiphytic Orchids Outdoors in the Low Country
Steve Katzberg – Epiphyte expert
Steve will discuss the selection criteria, some weather, climate and geographic considerations in hunting down these rare members.A ‘show and tell’ of the survivors that prospered will be the highlight of the workshop. Sources for these orchids, as well as lore surrounding them will also be presented. These elegant, hardy orchids offer an opportunity for the development of a community of orchid enthusiasts who grow the plants in Charleston private gardens, local backyards and patios.

Easy Ways to Plan & Plant for Fall & Winter Gardens
Rita Bachmann – Rita’s Roots
Ever wanted to plant a legit veggie garden but always felt you would just not get it quite right? Rita Bachmann will make it a stress-free affair as she walks you through the easiest steps for planning, selecting and planting the right veggies for those cooler months!

What’s Hot & New: Chinse Ground Orchids, Astromeria & Ferns
Chris Chaney – owner Piedmont Iris Farm
Celebrated upstate nurseryman Chris Chaney will come down to Charleston to share his enthusiasm on the hottest new trends in some of your favorite plants coming on the market. He will also bring a variety of plants to sell on site after the workshop!
