Native American Women Feeding the World

It is estimated that nearly 80% of the current world food supply originated from the Americas and traditional Thanksgiving holiday foods such as turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie all share their origins from the Native Americans.
In this informative holiday-themed presentation, garden historian Kathy Woolsey shares the vital role Native American women played in the world food supply chain in pre-Colonial times and how the three sisters (corn, beans and squash) influenced the future of world and American cuisine.
