Stokesia laevis ‘Mel’s Blue’ sports 4″ bright violet-blue flowers atop sturdy stems that enliven a border or a vase with equal intensity. Native to the southeastern United States. A highly decorative border plant and a good cut flower, it is also exceedingly adaptable, thriving equally in humidity of southern summers. It needs partial shade in the South and well-drained soil.
