Grafting Cold Hardy Citrus with Stan McKenzie
Tuesday, August 10, 10:00am-11:30am
CHS Hort Classroom
46 Windermere Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407
Ever heard the expression that there’s more than one way to skin a cat? The same holds true for grafting and propagating plants. Join Stan McKenzie of McKenzie Farms for an in-depth grafting lesson! Stan will demonstrate several ways to graft citrus and other fruiting plants. We will be using the ” cleft graft”, the approach graft, the hanging bud graft, the T bud graft and the inverted T bud graft. We will also briefly touch on air layering and the propagation of certain citrus varieties by rooted cuttings.
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to pre-order citrus from Stan’s extensive selection of cold hardy varieties and pick up their plants at the workshop!
