Demystifying Garden Design with Molly Hendry

Sunday, November 14, 1pm
CHS Hort Classroom – 46 Windermere Blvd.
Price: $35, CHS Hort Members Only

We may know a beautiful garden when we see one, but what makes it work? Behind every compelling garden is a thoughtful design. However, knowing where to start in your own space can be intimidating! In this interactive workshop Molly will break down the fundamentals of garden design by unpacking how these principles of design were used in some of the greatest gardens across the world. Then the class will get to take a pass at applying these principles as we design a garden together with these fundamental principles as our guide! You will walk away equipped to begin asking the right questions that will lead you to the right answers in your own garden!

Molly toggles the worlds of design and plants as both a trained horticulturist and landscape designer. As the Associate Director of Garden Support for the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens she manages various horticulture planning and design development projects. She is also a key support player in the renewal of the Gardens’ master plan. Before returning home to Birmingham to take on this new role, she spent 10 months living in the UK, sinking her hands into the soil at some of the top gardens across the country as the Garden Club of America’s 2016-2017 Royal Horticultural Society’s Interchange Fellow.

This class will be limited to 30 CHS Hort Members.
