Schizachyrium scoparium ‘The Blues’, Blue Stem Grass

Deciduous clumping grass to 2′ tall and wide with intense, deep gray/blue foliage followed by steel blue flower spikes to 3′ August until frost. The cooler weather of fall intensifies orange, red, and purple overtones. Plant in full sun. Give good drainage and average water. Easy to grow. USDA zones 3-10 in cold hardiness.
