Join Living Colors owner and designer Jen Stringer for this special garden study in her beautiful Folly Beach garden.

Jen’s home is a true piece of Folly Beach history and in fact is one of three homes that form their family compound. Her paternal great grandmother and grandfather (whom the street is named after) literally planted the grass in the first and third homes of the compound using found turf and spoons as they didn’t have garden tools.  They did the same with cuttings and division of other found plants in ditches.  Jen will speak about the evolution of the garden space starting with how she developed it from a sticker patch when her uncle owned the house 17 years ago.

Jen has created an eclectic garden that is experimental and always changing/evolving as she is never satisfied with her design.  She is an avid plant collector who buys ‘must have’ plants and finds homes for them creating a jungle-like oasis with a wide variety of tropicals and succulents interspersed with flowers for color and, of course, the pollinators.  Jen likes to try and push plants to their limits and is blessed with a microclimate on the marsh on folly beach.

Light refreshments will be included. All guests will be provided with a list of all of plants now in the garden.

Although this is an outdoor event, masks use is recommended and appreciated.
